Imagine going to bed tonight, not knowing where you’ll be tomorrow. Sadly, this is the grim reality for hundreds of thousands of children in the United States who are removed from their homes with nothing but a trash bag to collect their items. This transition can be traumatizing for any individual to experience but is especially frustrating for young children who have no control over the situation.

Here at Insurance One Group, we are passionate about protecting what matters most. We dedicate our agency’s operations to shine a light on individuals facing complex issues in our local area. For the next three months, we will join Comfort Cases in their mission to inspire communities and bring dignity and hope to the most vulnerable among us. Their commitment to engaging communities about the issues facing youth in foster care and alleviating their suffering is truly heartening.  

Comfort Cases began its operations in 2013 when founder, Rob Scheer, couldn’t stand to see the state in which foster children entered the system. Growing up in a foster home himself, he used his personal experiences from his childhood to ensure that no child in the system felt unwanted. To accomplish this mission, Comfort Case provides each child with a special bag to pack their personal items. This simple gift of items tells a child they matter.
