A Mentee Today, A Future Tomorrow

Neighborhoods across Maryland struggle to provide students with the tools, skills, and resources to achieve academic and professional success. Specifically, Montgomery County has seen a significant increase in the percentage of low-income, first-generation college students over the years. 

Here at Insurance One Group, we believe that promoting a supportive environment and encouraging our future leaders to reach their fullest potential will not only have a lasting impact on the individual but the community as a whole. Ultimately, our goal is to equip students living in low-income areas with the skills and resources necessary to become contributing members of society. To achieve this, our team will join Future Link its mission to inspire young professionals to take charge of their future.

The path to self-sufficiency can be challenging to navigate alone, especially for students who are the first in their families to go to college. Future Links is an organization that is addressing these challenges head-on by providing life-changing opportunities to first-generation college students using a two-phase intensive, individualized program. Its comprehensive program model gives students an enormous window of opportunities to explore alternative pathways to self-sufficiency—some of these include working with a mentor, networking with professionals, conducting informational interviews, and more. 

Through its ambitious efforts, Future Link has given high potential young adults the confidence they need to thrive in the real world and make their mark on their communities.
